Staying in a hotel is necessary sometimes, but you might be surprised at how dirty they can be. Try to avoid touching these items and you’ll be a lot better off.
Chances are that the remote control in your hotel room rarely gets wiped down, which means it’s covered in germs. Use a disinfectant wipe to clean it before you use.
The bathroom fixtures might get wiped down between guests, but the floor probably isn’t cleaned all that often.
Hotel investigations have found that housekeepers often forget to change the pillowcases or simply fluff the pillow without removing the pillowcase.
There’s no guarantee that hotel ice buckets are cleaned between each use so use caution when getting ice for your drinks.
Glasses and Mugs
Sometimes the maids simply rinse the glasses and replace them. Other times they are sprayed with a cleaning fluid and replaced. Bring bottled water with you.
Couch and Chairs
You never know what happened on that couch and what germs and bacteria it could be harboring. Toss a towel on it before you sit down and always wear clothes when sitting on the furniture.
The sheets are always changed between guests, but the comforters rarely get washed or changed. Pull it off the bed to protect yourself from all kinds of nasty stuff.
Main Light Switch
You can almost bet that the light switches in your hotel room are never cleaned. Wipe them yourself as soon as you check in.
Like the light switches and remote control, the coffee machine in your hotel room isn’t cleaned that often and is probably teeming with bacteria and germs.
Always use your smartphone at a hotel becasue the telephones are crawling with germs and are rarely cleaned.
